2016 Summer Fun Fly



Here are the details about our upcoming 2016 Summer Fun Fly

(This is an RC helicopter only event.  No fixed wing aircraft.)


When:  June 11th & 12th, 2016 - 9:00am to 7:00pm

Where:  Stamm Field at Longview Lake, Lee's Summit, MO.

Driving Directions: Address for GPS (not a mailing address): 2346 SW Sampson Rd, Lee's Summit, MO 64082 Latitude, Longitude: 38.877562,-94.443707  FROM HWY 71 Take the Main Street exit in Grandview. East on Main for a few miles (4.6) to Sampson. South on Sampson for approximately a mile. The entrance to the field is on the West.  FROM HWY 470: Take the Raytown Road exit. South on Raytown Road to High Grove Rd. East on High Grove to Sampson. South on Sampson for approximately a mile. The entrance to the field is on the West.  FROM HWY 350/50: Take the 3rd St. exit. West on 3rd and immediately get in left turn lane for Ward Rd. South on Ward Rd. to Scherer Rd. West on Scherer to Sampson. South on Sampson for approximately a mile. The entrance is on the West. As always, spectators may attend the event FREE of charge!  Everyone is welcome!  ==================================================================================================

Raffle information:

    This year's raffle prize is a Mikado 550SX!!  Raffle tickets are $5 each, or5 tickets for $20.00    The helicopter kit is unassembled and does not come with electronics (servos, gyro, speed controller, etc.)      YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!!!!! ================================================================================================== 

Pilot Registration Information:

    -  The landing fee is $20.00 (cash only please) -  This fee includes 1 raffle ticket, and 1 paid meal from the catering service.   -  Registration is required to fly RC aircraft at this event, regardless of type or size.   -  All pilots must have a valid AMA membership.   -  All pilots must have a valid Jackson County RC Flying Permit.  One-day passes are available!  Please let us know if you need one at the time of registration.   -  If you wish to obtain the one-day flying permit yourself before you come to the event, you can pick them up at the following location:                Longview Lake Marina -  9898 Longview Road,  Kansas City, MO.  64134   (Simply present your AMA card - The one-day permit charge is $5.00.) ================================================================================================== ***  PLEASE REMEMBER: SAFETY FIRST! *** Pilots will be required to have a spotter while flying!  NO flying behind the flight line!  (This includes all micro/mini helis and quads!)Flying is allowed only from designated flight stations! ================================================================================================== Catered Lunch provided  One meal ticket is included with the $20.00 landing fee Additional meals are $12.00 each. Canned drinks and bottled water will be available for $1.00 each. ==================================================================================================

 Poker Run Rules:  (We're doing it differently this year, so please read these rules carefully!)    -  The entry fee for the Poker Run is $10.00.  (This is a separate fee that is NOT included in the Landing Fee!)   -  Each player who enters will be given one envelope with a pack of 7 randomly drawn cards inside.   -  Players must try to make the best 5-card hand from the 7 cards in the envelope.   -  Players may buy up to two additional packs of 7 cards for $10.00 each for a maximum of 3 packs total.   -  A player may buy a pair of randomly drawn "Flex Cards" for $5.00 that can be combined with any pack of 7 to make a better hand.   -  Only one pair of Flex Cards per player allowed.   -  Except for Flex Cards, players may NOT mix or match cards between packs!  (The packs of 7 will be specially marked to prevent combining packs.)   -  Only ONE HAND of 5 cards from any set of packs (plus Flex Cards, if used) may be presented for prizes for the Poker Run! (Note:  These rules are subject to change at any time prior to the event.) Entry fees for the Poker Run will go into a 50/50 jackpot!! As each Poker Run player comes forward to claim a prize with their poker hand, they may choose to take the 50/50 cash instead of a prize from the product table.
